Hiring Requests

Welcome to the KSA's Hiring Guide. This resource is intended to ease the process of hiring adjunct and visiting faculty, and other HR-related tasks.

Letter of Offer for Auxiliary Faculty:

This person will be a Lecturer for a quarter (or more) with regular classroom or studio duties. They will be hired into the HR system as an employee to be paid monthly, but will not receive benefits. This is not a permanent faculty position.

If this description does not meet the duties you have in mind, please contact Lisa, Doug, or Carla.

If this description does meet the duties, then as Section Head you will need to fill out the Auxiliary Faculty Hiring Form.

This information will be sent automatically to Carla, who will complete the Letter of Offer for Auxiliary Faculty, print it on KSA letterhead, and have the Section Head sign the letter. Carla will then obtain Ann's signature.

Carla will contact the Auxiliary Faculty either by email or phone to let them know she is sending the original Letter to them for signature, with a return envelope so that they can easily send it back to her. She will include any additional forms or information.

Upon receipt of the signed offer letter and necessary forms from the Auxiliary Faculty member, Carla will hire the person into the HR system.

Since the Letter of Offer for Auxiliary Faculty format is approved by Stu Zweben, it will not need to be signed by the College unless there is a special condition that warrants change from the approved auxiliary faculty offer template; however, copies of all completed Letters of Offer for Auxiliary Faculty will be sent to his office in advance of the quarter of appointment.

Carla will keep copies of the Letter at each stage, and will retain the final completed copy.
